Vicki Hunt has been involved in the Birmingham and Atlanta photography communities for the past 20 years. Her involvement in Atlanta Celebrates Photography and Atlanta Photography Group have provided a stage to showcase her work. Vicki was educated at the University of Alabama with a degree in business, and later studied at University of Alabama, Birmingham in the black and white photography program. She has studied mixed media under noted artists Frank Shelton and Jason McGrady, and has taught alternative photographic process and Photoshop techniques. Her work has been featured in Birmingham magazine, Shutterbug magazine, Christmas With Southern Living, A Studio Guide to Creating Encaustic Art, by artists Jason McGrady and Donna Thomas, and the new Treasures of Georgia book. Vicki's photographs have been shown extensively, and chosen for inclusion in shows by Atlanta gallery owners Benjamin Krause and Fay Gold, and noted photographers Sylvia Plachey and Birney Imes for Southern Slow Exposures 2007 show. Lisa Hostetler, curator of photography at the Museum of Milwaukee chose Vicki's Rural Faces body of work for inclusion in Southern Photographers at Atlanta Photography Group. Jane Jackson, curator for Sir Elton John, and Julian Cox, curator of photography at the High Museum of Art, chose Mrs. Hunt's work for the permanent art collection at the Shepherd Center, Atlanta Ga. Vicki's work is also included in the private collections of numerous financial executives, Dobbins Air Force Base, and several metro Atlanta Government buildings. Mrs. Hunt's work is represented by the Jennifer Hunt Gallery, Birmingham, AL, Frameworks Gallery, Marietta, GA, Watson Gallery of Atlanta, GA, and Hand to Hand Gallery, NC.
